1. When was China Digital TV founded?
  China Digital TV was founded in 2004 by Dr. Zengxiang Lu and Mr. Jianhua Zhu, who had worked together from 2001 at N-T Information Engineering, one of the China’s earliest CA systems vendors. The company purchased N-T Information Engineering’s CA systems business in 2004 and continued to build upon the strong reputation that business had achieved.

4. What does China Digital TV do?
  China Digital TV is the leading provider of conditional access (CA) systems to China’s rapidly growing digital television market. The CA systems, which consist of (i) smart cards that are inserted into set-top boxes at the subscriber’s end, or terminal end, (ii) software installed at the digital television network operator’s transmission point, or head end, and (iii) software for set-top boxes, enable digital television network operators to control the distribution of content and value-added services to their subscribers and block unauthorized access to their networks.

5. What is Beijing Novel-Super Media Investment Co., Ltd?
  Beijing Novel-Super Media Investment Co., Ltd., is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Digital TV. Its purpose is to partner with China’s cable operators and content providers to offer value-added services to TV viewers, including Electronic Program Guide-based advertising and PC card-based services which enable PCs to function as HDTVs with DVR features.
