China Digital TV's Conflict Minerals Policy Statement
China Digital TV Holding Co., Ltd. (CDTV) is aware that trade in coltan (for tantalum), cassiterite (for tin), wolframite (for tungsten), and gold (collectively, the “Conflict Minerals”) originating from conflict areas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (the "DRC") and its adjoining countries may directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in such conflict areas or otherwise support serious human rights abuses.
As a concerned corporate citizen and U.S. publicly traded company, it is our policy to use only “DRC Confict-Free" minerals as defined by applicable laws and regulations. In furtherance of this policy, we have developed and implemented Conflict Minerals procedures that conform to the “OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas" published by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (the "OECD Guidance"). Accordingly, we require that our suppliers undertake reasonable due diligence to ensure that their products or materials do not contain Conflict Minerals that originate from the DRC and its adjoining countries and provide us with at least the following:
- To the extent practicable, documentation on the parties involved in our suppliers' supply chains from extraction of the Conflict Minerals to delivery of the products or materials containing such Conflict Minerals to CDTV;
- Documentation on our suppliers' Conflict Minerals sourcing, such as a completed Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI);and
- Documentation that products or materials provided to CDTV by our suppliers only contain minerals that are “DRC Conflict-Free”.
The relevant suppliers should ensure the accuracy of all documentation they provide to CDTV. We may reconsider our willingness to partner with suppliers that fail to comply with this policy.
As a company concerned with socially and environmentally responsible business practices, CDTV seeks suppliers who share our commitment.
